Thank you! I'd be curious if you've done a review for Sekiro. Huge Bloodborne and Dark/Demon Souls fan but gave up on it. Would love to have your thoughts on it.

listened to this while falling asleep and my dumba** still downloaded outter worlds and was very confused about the not cartoonish graphics

During the Sekiro bit: "Oh cool he used the Shadowbringer Theme Music"
    NUMBER TWO: WHAAAAAT
Jus to ber clear, I agree, Shadowbringers is the best jrpg I've played in years, just suprised to see it on a top10 of a pretty famous Youtuber!

Edit: oh also Im buying Outer Wilds, thank you

Bought and finished the outer wilds during steam sale. Can't wait for what mobius devs comes up with next.

I'm just sad because Outer Wilds was released at the same year Outer Worlds did. It really did confuse a lot of people.
The experience you have with Outer Wilds is what every game should thrive to achieve. Do yourself a favor, if you haven't played it yet go buy it, it's currently on sale in steam.

Ooooo I literally just bought Outer Wilds an hour before starting this vid and am installing now waiting to play.

This should be labelled top RPGs of 2019. If you don't like RPGs, there is nothing here for you.

i really like it you mention your dislike for sekiro just like me though i couldnt find the reason for it , you found the reason. i think bloodborne just outclasses sekiro in every way. ganna try your recommendations cause i feel we understand each other 😀

I got the biggest chub of my life when I recognized the outer worlds soundtrack. YAAAAAS that game was SOO FUCKING GOOD

Can I just point out the fact that in this video, during the Outer Wilds anglerfish this madman isn't in his ship? Balls of titanium right there.

My only problem with Outer Wilds is that there isn't more of it. I really hope they make a sequel or elaborate on the game in some way because it's dripping with potential.

Days gone should have been on here SMH. Game is criminally underrated. It is truly an amazing AWESOME game. The description you gave The Outer Worlds being chicken soup is what Days Gone feels like if that chicken soup was done better than every version if chicken soup you had ever tried with some insane secret seasoning comparable to crack. From the story to the hordes of freakers and very cool diverse enemy types, be them zombie or human this game deserves praise but got shit on bc of its buggy launch(which most were fixed within a couple weeks) and straight white protagonist. This game was amazing and deserved better.

Whoa whoa whoa. You're telling me this guy has Outer Wilds as #1, FFXIV Shadowbringers as #2, and Sekiro as #3??
I never thought I'd find someone who so perfectly matches my own taste in games!

Thank you Ralph for this video! I saw Outer Wilds in a Steam advertisement recently and remembered your review of it in this video and decided to try it. This was perfect as I had enough time to forget everything I saw in this video and go in completely blind. My god what a brilliant game. A bit Myst, bit Subnautica, bit No Man's Sky, and a lot of genius unlike anything I've played. My GOTY for 2019 as well and I'm so glad you had it in this video.

I think what's special about Outer Wilds is that it uses your sense of wonder to teach a lesson about empathy and shared aspirations. The Hearthians start of as kind of the least interesting, or least remarked upon part of the game. It doesn't tell you much, but it makes sure you know that you are one and your fate is theirs. They're simple, kind, maybe cartoonishly innocent/naive, and they really just want to see what everything around them is about. So when you learn in 22 minutes their solar system gets blown away, you kind of intrinsically want to learn what is causing their end.
I wouldn't spoil the rest, but for obvious reasons the ending has these same themes. If you've ever heard the saying that 'Intelligent life is like the Universe attempting to understand itself', I feel like that's the message of Outer Wilds. The Hearthians and the Nomai aren't ever tragic or sorrowful figures even though they die, because they're living their biggest aspiration, and your success is the achievement of their greatest goal.

Gosh, this is so well presented Skilly! Watching (again) because I’m about to buy 'A Plagues Tail' and definitely 'The Outer Wilds'. It also makes me need to return to 'The Outer Worlds'. Thank you for all you do. You’re incredible at this.

Putting a game at number 3 that you didn't personally enjoy but could see why it was genius, hmm, respect.

This is where I found out about Outer Wilds and thank you so so much for recommending. That was such an amazing experience that will stick with me forever. Can see why it isn't for everyone but I loved every bit of it. One of my favourite games ever.

I appreciate that you’re a reviewer who didn’t just put out a review if you weren’t happy with it. Mad respect.

I don't like Platinum games. They are almost an one hit wonder. They had a few great games in the beginning, including one of my favorite games and the best spectacle fighters ever, Bayonetta. And after a while they consistently created mediocre games. The new Nier is great and all, but only for the writing and setting. Not for the combat or the "platinum" feel. They also are responsible for one of my least favorite "innovations" when it comes to game controls: parry mechanics that involve an analog stick. Seeing this mechanic not only do I wonder what happened to Platinum, but I wonder if they were ever good… The same way as Fallout 76 made people question if Bethesda was ever good. Is there anybody from the Bayonetta days still working there and in a leadership position? Because sure as hell doesn't feel like it.

  22. Donald Frederick 12 July, 2020 at 17:30 Reply

Interesting list but don't get ranking games one didn't play, barely played or didn't like… Only makes me question why put them on the list. Also, noticed hyping up "critics scores" so guess that view changed in half a year.
