Other than that (as well as being completely in Japanese), this game is pretty much identical to 1943: The Battle of Midway
All power up locations has been found – you’ll know when you max out your power ups on the penultimate mission and get a healthy 100,000 points when you pick up the 2-powerup Dragonfly on the 24th mission

Playing with joystick, 1943 :
[] (square button) = lightning continuously
X = once lightning
O = once fire, press & hold = pumping laser (once).
Triangle = rapid fire
1944 :
[] (square button) = rapid laser (continuously)
X = once laser
O & triangle = fire, press & hold = rapid fire
