Grappling is the most important aspect of MMA. A fighter with mediocre striking can still succeed in MMA if he has good takedowns and a good ground game. On the other hand, no one can survive in MMA without grappling skill. This is something Royce Gracie proved at UFC 1 and it remains true to this day. But who are the best grapplers in MMA today?
Of course we have GSP, undoubtedly the greatest MMA wrestler of all time, who keeps threatening a comeback, but what about other grapplers? After all there are many different types of grappling. There’s the standard Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which we all know thanks to the Gracie’s and their tutor, Count Koma – but it’s far from the be all and end all of grappling.

She was the most exciting grappler of all time and never just layed there she’d always be moving and very quick with her submissions. The only way to beat her was to box.
